RESUMEN Existen pocos trabajos
clínicos referentes al síndrome de prostatitis. Muchos médicos consideran que se trata
de una sola enfermedad y por lo general el tratamiento se basa en el "abuso" de
antibióticos y al final el resultado es frustrante para ambos - médico y paciente - y
este busca ayuda en otros profesionales. En el actual trabajo le ofrecemos nuestra
experiencia profesional y una amplia actualización bibliográfica de este frecuente
problema.
SUMMARY There are few clinical works
in regard to the "prostatitis syndrome" yet too many physicians, still believe
that we are dealing with only one medical condition whose treatment is an overuse of
antibiotics. At the end all ends as a mutual frustration, and the patients opts for help
with other specialist. In this article we are present our personal viewpoint of the
problems and a wide revision of the actual medical literature.
