FOLIA DERMATOLÓGICA PERUANA is the organ of scientifi c
diffusion of the Dermatological Circle of Peru (CIDERM PERU).

The articles published in this journal are referred to investigations
in the specialty, related disciplines and will have to strictly
fulfi ll the publication regulation.
The articles should be written in Spanish and must include a
summary and key words in Spanish and English. The manuscripts
must be sent in bond paper, A4 format (two impressions, original
and one copy), accompanied of a fl oppy disk or CD, indicating the
program that has been used (ej. Microsoft Word).
In addition, will be accompanied by a letter directed to the editor,
which will include the title of the article, authors names, references,
correspondence (electronic mail and telephones) and it will be stated
with clarity that the content, fully or partly, has not been published
previously nor will be it later in another biomedical journal.

Peruana.
The Publishing Committee reserves the right to reject or to suggest
modifi cations in the articles before their fi nal acceptance.
The aspects not anticipated in this regulation will be solved by
the Publishing Committee.
The publication of an article does not imply necessarily that
the Journal shares the ideas contained in it.
ORIGINAL ARTICLES
The original articles do not have to exceed 10 pages and must
have the following structure:

TITLE: Must be included in the first page of the article, in Spanish
and English. The names of the authors, academic degrees, name of
the Institute, Hospital Service or Center where the investigation was
done and the address of the main author must be included also.

SUMMARY AND KEY WORDS:: The summary must be structured,
presented in Spanish and English, should not exceed 250 words,
and concretely indicate the objectives, fi ndings and conclusions of
the article. After the summary, three or four “referring key words”
should be included.

TEXT: It is important to fulfi ll the following structure: Introduction
and Objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion, Bibliographic References,
Conclusions.
REVIEW ARTICLES
These articles do not have to exceed 8 pages. They should
include: Title, Authors, Summary, Text and Bibliographic
References.
CLINICAL CASES
These contributions must be concise, in their description
and in the commentaries; they do not have to exceed 8 pages.
They should include: Titles, Authors, Summary, Introduction,
Presentation of Cases, Discussion, Bibliographic References.
GENERAL NORMS

Tables and graphs: The Tables should be numbered with
Roman numbers and the Graphs with Arabic numbers. They should
be included in separate leaves, clearly made with black ink, and
numbered in the superior angle of the back; placing in the text,
between parenthesis, the place that corresponds to them. The
number of illustrations must be limited the strictly necessary ones.
The presentation of the tables will be according to the model of
three horizontal lines, with not internal nor vertical lines.

Photographies: Color and black and white photographies
are accepted; in a limited number in relation to the nature of
the investigation (maximum 8 photographies). For the color
photographies, original transparencies (slides) or photographies
are accepted, of preference printed in shining paper of good
quality, as well as digital photographies with good resolution (300
dpi or 120 pixel/cm, size 10 x 8 cm). The photographs in black and
white should size 13 x 18 cm, also in shining paper of good quality.
All the photographies must be numbered and include the name
of the author, title of the investigation and legend; coloration
and amplifi cation must be included in the case of photographs of
histopathology. Also, its location in the text should be mentioned.

Abbreviations and symbols: Use the internationally wellknown
ones. The units of measurement are expressed following
the metric decimal system, the temperature in celsius degrees.

Bibliographic References: Presented in separate leaves,
correlatively, according to its order of appearance in the text. To
do the reference of a journal article, follow the next example:
Kimura T, Miyasawa H, Aoyagi T, Ackerman B. Folliculosebaceous
cystic hamartoma. A distinctive malformation of the skin. Am J
Dermatopathol. 1991;13(3):213-20.
The book references must follow the structure: Murray PR,
Rosenthal KS, Kobayashi GS, Pfaller MA. Medical microbiology.
4th ed. St. Louis: Mosby; 2002.
NOTE: The articles that
do not fulfi ll these requirements will not be
accepted. The present regulation is based on the
Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted
to Biomedical Journals (www.icmje.org).
