RESUMEN

La infección por VIH y el SIDA constituyen en un flagelo que afecta a todo el mundo lo que se refleja en la gran cantidad de información que, sobre el tema, es posible obtener a través de Internet, desde páginas dirigidas a grupos de riesgo hasta las más sofisticadas publicaciones científicas.

Debido a la diversidad de información que las instituciones publican en Internet, las páginas web han sido clasificadas según su contenido, citándose las de mayor popularidad.

SUMMARY

The HIV infection and AIDS are lashing everybody around the world, it is reflected in the extensive information that is possible to obtain through Internet, there are pages dedicated to risk groups and others special science publishing.

Owing to the diversity of information that institutions publish by Internet, web pages have been clasificated according to their contents, suggesting the most popular ones.

INTRODUCCIÓN

Como en otros campos de la medicina, Internet ofrece abundante información sobre el SIDA, dirigida a pacientes, médicos e investigadores.

En este artículo citaremos, brevemente, los principales recursos que Internet ofrece, donde se puede obtener información sobre Infección por VIH y SIDA; los recursos citados incluyen páginas Web que aprovechan los atributos multimedia con que cuentan las computadoras actuales y bases de datos en texto puro denominadas gopher, accesible desde su navegador.

Encontrará recursos importantes en una gran base de datos relacionada al SIDA; la mayoría de ediciones que circulan son gratuitas, pero algunas requieren estar suscrito a la versión impresa de la revista y en otros casos, pagos específicos por el acceso en línea. Tendrá a su disposición artículos completos, así como resúmenes y publicaciones íntegramente dedicadas al tema.
