azul vital a pacientes portadores de cáncer de lengua (oral) T1, T2, T3, NO, MO,
admitidos y tratados en el Instituto de Enfermedades Neoplásicas "Dr Eduardo Cáceres Graziani'', durante los meses de Junio del 2001 a Febrero del 2002.
Para el análisis estadístico de los datos se empleo el paquete SPSS 10.0.
Resultados: Se estudiaron 11 casos. En 5 casos se diagnostico metástasis cervical, con un total de 7ganglios comprometidos. De estos, 6 fueron identificados por el método de ganglio centinela. Para el estudio patológico se obtuvieron un total de 58 ganglios centinelas, 52 sin evidencia de metástasis. 2 ganglios informados negativos para la congelación variaron a positivo para metástasis según la parafina y uno vario de positivo a la congelación a negativo a la parafina.
Discusión: La determinación de ganglio centinela para cáncer de lengua, es un método factible de realizar en nuestro medio que se encuentra en estudio a nivel mundial, no presenta mayores dificultades técnicas, y puede ser un método seguro para la determinación de micrometástasis en cuellos NO. El estudio analiza los problemas técnicos y los resultados. Requiere mayor experiencia para dar conclusiones definitivas.

ABSTRACT
Objective: Find the benefit of diagnosis in the determination of the sentinel lymph node, like method to detect cervical micrometastasis of the tongue cancer, with necks clinically negative.
Material and Methods: We did localization of the sentinel lymph node by radio guided surgery, lymphoscintigraphy, and localization with vital blue dye in patients with oral tongue cancer TI, T2, T3, NO, MO, admitted and treaties in the Instituto de Enfermedades Neoplásicas "Dr. Eduardo Cáceres Grazialli", during the months of june of the 2001 to February of the 2002.
For the statistical analysis of the data we employ the package SPSS 10.0.
Results: 11 cases were studied, which in 5 were found cervical metástasis. Of the 7 nodes diagnosed with metástasis, 6 were identified by the method of sentinel Lytnph nade. Abre obtained 58 sentinel lymphs nodes, 52 without metastasis evidence. 2 nodes reported negativa accotding to the frozen report, change to positive for metastasis according to the paraffin, and 1 changed of positive in frozen to negative in paraffin.
Discussion: The determination of sentinel lymph node in tongue cancer, is a Impasible mediad ojo carrying out in the institute that is in study at world level, it doesn’t present bigger technical difficulties, and it can be a sure technique for micrometastasis determination in necks NO. We analysed technical problems and results It requires major experience to give definitive conclusions.
